The lotus begins its life in the mud and darkness at the bottom of a body of water. It gradually rises up and out of its dark, underwater reality to open its petals fully to bask in the rays of warmth and light from the sun.

The word mastery, in the words—Adventures in Mastery—is all about the human experience of rising up and out of its beginnings through, continuous self-mastery, to ultimately arrive at the highest state of spiritual existence both on earth and in the spirit world.

I personally chose and designed the lotus that appears throughout the work of Adventures in Mastery. The journey of the lotus well symbolizes the human journey from darkness to light, from ignorance to full enlightenment, and from personal love to universal love, bringing the soul fully into the presence of God within and without.

The lotus is an ideal symbol for our earthly and spiritual journey in our endeavor to be whole and one with God.
